Sony SA-CT290 Ultra-Slim 300W Soundbar Bluetooth W/ Remote.
---------------------------READ THIS FIRST-----------------------------------
Does NOT INCLUDE THE SUBWOOFER. Works perfectly fine and I love it but I am not a fan of Bluetooth technology. Never have been and never will be. Q&A Why doesn't the subwoofer come with it?
Because one day, it just didn't want to work anymore. I took it a part and worked on it for a while but in the end, I lost the fight. I chucked the subwoofer in the trash where it rightfully belongs. The issue you see (and this is common for this model), was some kind of transitor goes bad on the main board. Finding that simple itsy bitsy piece is like finding gold in the Saudi Arabian desert; it's not easy to find. They do make alternatives and I tried that and it didn't work. Then I replaced the entire board while swapping the bluetooth module and then it hit me: it's the module. I could not find the right module so I simply gave up. I'm not here to complain about the design but why pair to the soundbar which then needs to pair to the woofer? Why cut the middle man out? Not sure and I don't Sony isn't sure either so there's that. If I get another subwoofer, will it work?
Probably not. The module MUST match and sync with what is inside the soundbar. Anything else will simply be ignored when in pair mode. Can I hardwire a sub?
If you know what your doing, then yes. This was my last and final step but in the end, I couldn't reach that summit. It just wasn't worth it to me, but it may be for you. Proceed with caution, but yes I think it is highly possible. If it doesn't work, do you do refunds?
No, no, and no. I used to but it seems a return happens for every reason other than the part is defective. So unless the part itself is damaged in any way, I simply do not have the energy for refunds anymore. By 'damaged', I don't mean you bought this as a mistake because the research was off, it doesn't 'fit', or you put tried pairing to a different sub and it 'didn't work'. In other words, I won't refund over human error. Buy if you know what you are doing and know for a fact this part will correspond with whatever sub (should you decide to do so). If not, please take it to someone who does. I'm still requesting a refund because I think the part just doesn't work/or was sold damaged
Fair enough, but the battle will be a long and arduous one and will most likely end with you paying to ship the item back out of pocket. Depending on your location, this could range between $5 or in some cases, up to or greater than the part itself. But what if it REALLY is broken?
Now we're talking! If for whatever reason during shipping the part is ineffective, I would need proof of the defect. A simple jump should do or some kind of reading from a multimeter testing the correct pins. If it is indeed broke and can be PROVEN, then I'd be more than happy to refund your money back. As always, I highly recommend contacting me first if in doubt over ANYTHING. Some of you have requested a phone call and I am more than happy to have a conversation verbally to answer any questions. I rather we both be happy in the long run rather than frustrated. Again, thanks for shopping at J.R. Productions.
